The Cambridge Dining Company (CDC) are looking to employ a vibrant and professional person to join our team working in the Courtyard Kitchen and to work on a wide range of events within the Fitzwilliam Museum.

As the Fitzwilliam Museum is one of Cambridge’s most visited attractions, we are looking for people to help make a memorable experience for visitors throughout the museum. From a warm friendly service in the Courtyard Kitchen to a grand formal dinner in one of the galleries.

Skills required:

The candidate will need to have the ability to come together and work as part of a dedicated front of house team, be motivated and have a ‘cannot do enough to please’ attitude.

The role is very hands on. The candidate will need to be hard working and flexible with the tasks required.

Responsibilities:

• Good knowledge of food safety standards

• Maintaining efficient operations

• Ensuring that customer expectations are met to a high standard

• Establish and maintain excellent relationships with all customers

• Must adopt a responsible attitude towards health and safety and comply with any procedures required by CDC to ensure the health and safety of themselves, their colleagues and any other persons that may be affected by their actions

 

Tasks & main duties:

• Set up, service and pack down the café

• Prepare and deliver internal catering within the museum

• Work on evening events

• Good knowledge of food safety standards

• Maintain a positive working environment

 

Person specification:

• Bring energy and passion to the role

• Be flexible and provide a ‘cannot do enough to please’ approach

• Possess excellent communication skills with the CDC team and customers

• Cafe/restaurant experience is preferred

• Presentable and smart in appearance

Hours & pay:

The role is based at the Courtyard Kitchen, Fitzwilliam Museum, Trumpington Road, Cambridge.

The hourly rate is £12.60p/hr. The days will be Tuesday – Saturday/Sunday hours are flexible and to be discussed at the interview.
