Group bookings

We welcome all groups visiting us at the Museum. To help us make your booking and visit as easy and enjoyable as possible, please follow our guidelines below:

• We define a ‘group’ as ten people or more so if your group is smaller than this, you don’t need to book ahead. For more information, explore our ‘Plan your visit’ page.

• To guarantee entry, we encourage you to make group bookings at least a week in advance to avoid disappointment. Unfortunately, we’re unable to accept groups who haven’t booked in advance.

• Please email us directly at events@fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk to make your booking. Please fill out this form and attach to the email. If you’re unable to complete the form, please mention this in the email and our staff will be happy to help.

• Please note, a charge of £5 per head applies to all groups of ten people or more. For example, this applies to foreign language schools, University of the Third Age and art groups. However, groups from UK educational institutions such as schools, sixth forms, universities and higher education groups are exempt and are welcome to visit for free.

• If you’re unsure if your group falls under ‘educational parties’ or not, please email us for guidance: events@fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk

• We can accommodate larger groups, however for very large groups up to a maximum of 40 people, we encourage you to book as far in advance as possible to avoid disappointment. Please note that groups of 15 people may be divided into smaller groups and entry spread out over consecutive time slots.

• During the UK school term time we are unable to accept group visits during the morning. This is due to booked teaching sessions for schools and universities. However, we do welcome group visits after 14:30.

• Limited numbers of lockers are available in the Museum for groups to use. If lockers are essential to your visit, please request this during the booking process otherwise we cannot guarantee availability.

• We require a minimum of one responsible adult accompanying every ten children aged 18 and under. When making a group booking, please share the number of adults and children visiting.
