Group Visits

###Visiting groups policy

We are delighted to be able to welcome groups back to the museum for visits. To facilitate smooth entry into the museum for all visitors we require the following from all groups:

  • All groups will need to be booked at least one week in advance via email education@fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk. During the busy Summer months please try to book at least two weeks ahead of your visit. Please do not book groups via the ticketing website as we have the right to cancel any groups booked in this way.
  • Group sizes are currently limited to 15 and therefore larger groups will need to divide and entry may be over several time slots.
  • We are unable to accept walk up groups, so please book in advance or you may be turned away.
  • During Cambridgeshire school term we are unable to accept group visits during the morning. This is due to booked teaching sessions for schools and universities. However we do welcome group visits after 14:00.
  • There are group lockers available to use, however availability of these is not guaranteed. Only hand carry backpacks and small bags will be permitted in the galleries. If a locker is essential to your visit please request this at the time of booking.
  • We recommend a ratio of 1 leader to every 10 children aged 16 and under. When booking please state the number of adults and number of children.
  • Sketching is allowed in the galleries provided the galleries are not too busy. When sketching, please be aware of other visitors and make sure there is no risk to people or works in the gallery. No pastels, ink or liquid colour, including oils, may be used.

Please do not:

  1. Get too close or touch any picture, its frame, glass, or label or any other object.
  2. Use a mobile telephone for making or receiving calls. Phones and tablets are permitted for photography and messaging, but please keep mobiles on silent and use earphones for audio material. [For our full photography policy.] (https://fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/visit-us/photography-policy)
  3. Bring food and drink for consumption inside the Museum.
