Nicholas Thomas

Professor Nicholas Thomas has been Director of the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology at the University of Cambridge and a Fellow of Trinity College, Cambridge since 2006. He was co-curator of the 2018 Oceania exhibition for the Royal Academy, and is the author of several influential books on material culture and colonial culture in the Pacific, including Entangled Objects (Harvard, 1991); Possessions: Indigenous Art/Colonial Culture (Thames and Hudson, 1999); and Islanders: The Pacific in the Age of Empire (Yale, 2012), which was awarded the Wolfson History Prize.
