The Hamilton Kerr Institute (HKI) is one of the world's leading centres for teaching and research in conservation and heritage science.
'Being an Islander Art and Identity of the large Mediterranean Islands' is a research project and forthcoming major exhibition. Both the exhibition and research project, together with corresponding public engagement activities, aim to elucidate what defined island identities in the Mediterranean. They explore how insularity affected and shaped cultural identity using the examples of Crete, Cyprus, and Sardinia, and provide a platform to debate cultural evolution in the islands as opposed to the surrounding mainland.
The role holder will work closely with the lead Exhibition Curator to realise all aspects of the exhibition including collections and bibliographic research, concept development, presentation, and interpretation. They will work as part of the Exhibitions and Displays team to help manage delivery following Fitzwilliam Museum processes and agreed timelines.
We are seeking someone with experience of working on a gallery display or an exhibition in the field of Mediterranean archaeology, who can work collaboratively with team members and show a high degree of ICT skills.
