When can I film or photograph at the Museum?

Commercial filming or photography in the galleries must take place when the Museum is closed to visitors, preferably on a Monday between the hours of 08.30 – 5.00pm or weekday mornings 08.30am – 10.00am, before the Museum opens to the public. The Museum is closed to visitors on Mondays except on Bank Holidays. Filming in some back-of-house locations during public opening hours can be arranged, subject to availability and permissions.

How much does it cost to film or photograph at the Museum?

Fees are assessed based on crew size and the duration of the shoot. It is an hourly rate charged from the time of arrival until departure, per hour. Please enquire for further details.

How much notice does the Museum need for a new shoot enquiry?

We normally require at least 14 working days' notice to arrange location shoots. If you would like to film with a specific collection item or if you would like to film with a Museum expert please contact us with the details and we will confirm availability and costs.

Is there parking on site?

There is limited parking available on site which must be booked in advance. In general we can accommodate up to 2 small vehicles per location/photo shoot.

I am a student, can I film or photograph in the Museum for my project?
