Microfilm digitisation service

The Fitzwilliam Museum has a modest archive of microfilms, which were produced on site at the Museum until the early 2000s. The collection includes illuminated manuscripts, music, and archive material such as letters and notebooks from our Department of Manuscripts and Printed Books.

The Image Library is pleased to offer a microfilm digitisation service.

Microfilms are digitised using our in-house SL1000 Digital Film Scanner. It is possible to order a digitisation of a complete microfilm or just specific sections. Images are black and white and supplied in pdf format or as small jpegs. They are suitable for research and study purposes as well reproduction in a lecture/presentation or for on-line purposes such as an academic website or a personal blog. Reproduction permission must be obtained from the Image Library prior to images being reproduced.

Fees

Digital scans from microfilm: £0.75p + vat per frame of film

Minimum charge of £10.00 + vat per order.
