Welcoming everyone in our community
We believe that the Fitzwilliam Museum is a place for everyone.
We also make the most of the Museum as a space for everyone to enjoy. By helping to make connections between people and our collections and celebrating these conversations, we hope that everyone will feel at home at the museum.
What do the Fitzwilliam Museum’s community programmes do?
- We work with community partners to create opportunities for people to connect with the museum.
- Our focus is on ability over disability and we carefully design our talks, tours, creative workshops and outreach sessions according to the specific needs of our visitors.
We offer:
- Projects and programmes promoting wellbeing through coming together to connect with each other and the collections
- Touch tours and audio described tours for individuals or groups who are blind or partially sighted
- Gallery sessions and art workshops for local community groups, many of whom have specific needs
