The Fitzwilliam Museum today announced the appointment of Grant O'Brien as Head of Visitor Experience.
Grant O'Brien joins the Museum on 14 November from his current role at Shoreditch Town Hall, a multi-arts venue in London where he heads up the Visitor Experience, Operations and Events teams. Grant has a wealth of experience leading large customer-facing teams and of running high profile, publicly accessible cultural venues, and is passionate about delivering word-class visitor experience. Although he is moving job location from London to Cambridge, Grant is a Cambridge resident, with longstanding family connections to the area. He and his family are frequent visitors to the Museum and are big fans of the Museum’s offer for families and young people.Speaking about his new role at the Fitzwilliam, Grant said:
'I’m so thrilled to be joining the Fitzwilliam Museum and am hugely excited at the prospect of building upon the amazing work that has already been done by our visitor experience team. I will strive to deliver an inclusive, safe and welcoming visitor experience for each and every one of our guests and create an environment in which we can tell the stories of our collections and research in a truly accessible, engaging, immersive and experiential way. We will take our guests out of their everyday lives, creating a space that allows them to be inquisitive, moved and inspired by all we have to offer.'
We look forward to welcoming Grant in November.
