Love-themed ceramics from the J.W.L. Glaisher collection

This exhibition is now in our archive.

The mathematician and astronomer J.W.L. Glaisher (1848–1928) is best known as a collector of ceramics, but he also maintained a number of secondary collections, including a large collection of valentines.

In this display, see a small group of love-themed objects from Glaisher's ceramic collection, selected to complement his valentine cards on show in Gallery 14 as part of the exhibition 'The Object of My Affection: Stories of love from the Fitzwilliam collection' (30 January–28 May 2018).
