Gallery 4: French Art 17th–19th Century

Open

After being closed for three years for maintenance and refurbishment, Gallery 4 has reopened.

There are still a few spaces on the walls for pieces yet to be installed – they will be hung in early August 2023.

Gallery 4 now showcases a number of new acquisitions contextualised within existing collections, plus works including bronzes by Jacob Epstein and Alberto Giacometti, depicting female sitters.

Among new acquisitions, works by Bridget Riley, Jake Grewal, Sylvia Snowden and Paul Dash as well as paintings by the neo-Impressionist Georges Seurat, Edgar Degas, Fernand Leger, Keith Vaughan and Gary Wragg.
