Pharos, the lighthouse at Alexandria, was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Towering 440 feet above the harbour, it guided seafarers towards the Egyptian city, home to the great library and museum.
This website was designed to guide the visitor through the extensive collections of the Fitzwilliam Museum, illuminating a selection of the treasures it contains.
It has now been incorporated into the main website due to its reliance on Flash, which was discontinued in 2021.
