Adriana Iuliano is a Postdoctoral Research Associate (Scientific Research) at the Fitzwilliam Museum and Hamilton Kerr Institute, University of Cambridge. She is a heritage scientist, interested in the application and integration of multi-analytical physico-chemical methods for the study of artistic and archaeological materials and practices.

Adriana is currently part of the research project MakingAI, an interdisciplinary collaboration between the Hamilton Kerr Institute, Fitzwilliam Museum, the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research, and the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics. She focuses on Flemish flower still-life paintings, Egyptian coffins (Fitzwilliam Museum), and pre-Hispanic Colombian ceramics (McDonald Institute), combining existing legacy data with new technical examination to support the development of advanced computational models for cultural heritage research.

Before joining the Museum, Adriana carried out her PhD in Physics of Archaeomaterials at Archéosciences Bordeaux, Bordeaux-Montaigne University/University of Bordeaux (2022-2026), focusing on the archaeometric study of Gallo-Roman wall paintings from Limonum (Poitiers, France) within the projects GPR ‘Human Past’ and Aquitania Ornata. Previously, she was a research intern at the Rathgen Research Laboratory, Berlin State Museums, and at the Institute of Heritage Science (CNR-ISPC) in Florence. She holds an MSc in Science for the Conservation-Restoration of Cultural Heritage from the University of Bologna (2021) and a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Glasgow (2019).
