We have just launched a brand new schools site, packed full of useful resources for teachers and pupils. Take a look!
Activities for schools and families designed as a starting point for looking, talking and doing together.
This resource is designed to support students to develop research skills for EPQ and other A-level subjects. Each project demonstrates different approaches to researching objects, paintings and human remains. Click on an image to explore each research journey.
Our Fact Sheets listed below provide background information on a selection of works used most frequently by school groups in the Museum. The Fact Sheets are available in PDF format which you can download by clicking on the links below.
Please check before your visit that all the objects you are hoping to see are on display, as items may be removed for conservation work or loans to other galleries.
Our range of DIY resources provides teaching strategies for you to use with your pupils in the galleries. As we do not know your pupils, or the specific aims of your visit, these ideas may need adapting, but we hope they will act as a springboard.
The Into Action activity sheets are designed for pupils to use in the galleries. They can be used with our DIY resources, or to follow up Museum teacher-led sessions. Please feel free to adapt and change them to suit your pupils' needs.
